Opportunity, Close to Home: Eaton & Berube Invests in Marguerite’s Place

Some connections to a community run deep. For Marc Berube, who was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, an organization also founded by the Grey Nuns, that shared history is part of why Eaton & Berube has stepped forward as a tax credit purchaser to support the upcoming Marguerite’s Place expansion project, The Place for Possibility.

A Connection Rooted in Nashua

Eaton & Berube, a locally owned insurance agency, has had deep roots in the Nashua community and a relationship with St. Joseph Hospital for many years. Through that connection, the team came to know Marguerite’s Place and the work they do to support single mothers and their children experiencing homelessness. Beyond becoming a valued supporter of our mission, Eaton & Berube has also served as Marguerite’s Place’s insurance broker since our founding, providing a trusted partnership that has helped support our work from the very beginning.

For Eaton & Berube, what stands out about Marguerite’s Place is the opportunity they create for families to begin anew, walking with families as they build a path toward stability, independence, and self-sufficiency, offering support at the moment it’s needed most.

“We believe that when people are given an opportunity and the right resources, they can accomplish remarkable things,” the team shared. “Sometimes, all someone needs is that opportunity and a strong support system behind them to create lasting change.”

A Culture of Giving Back

Giving back has always been a priority for Eaton & Berube, especially for Marc. As a Nashua-based business, the agency recognizes that its success is tied to the strength of the community around it, and that businesses have a responsibility to support organizations that improve lives and create opportunities for others.

“When local organizations succeed in helping people thrive, the entire community benefits,” they shared.

How Tax Credits Help Make Expansion Possible

By purchasing $50,000 worth of tax credits from the NHCDFA, Eaton & Berube is helping fund the Marguerite’s Place expansion.

Building on the lot next door at 106 Pine Street, Marguerite’s Place will welcome hundreds more families each year with 15 new transitional apartments, expanded community programs, and child care growth from 30 to 50 openings annually. The four-floor, 18,235-square-foot building will also transform a blighted property into a space that strengthens the entire downtown neighborhood.

Building a Nashua for the Next Generation

Nashua has long been a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family, and Eaton & Berube is proud to help keep it that way. Supporting Marguerite’s Place, they say, is one way to ensure Nashua remains “a welcoming and supportive place for future generations.”

To Marc and the entire Eaton & Berube team, thank you! Your investment doesn’t just help Marguerite’s Place build a bigger space. It helps more mothers and children overcome impossible choices and build the lives they deserve.

We need donors like you to make sure more families can build a brighter future.

Your gift to The Place for Possibility campaign will boost transitional housing, increase high-quality child care, and expand life changing community support for thousands of families in southern New Hampshire.
